Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy governs the collection, use and disclosure of personal information through the website at cup.pm, cuppm.com, and the associated email digest (together, the "Service"). Both cup.pm and cuppm.com are domains owned and operated by the same individual sole operator ("we", "us"). By submitting your email address you consent to the practices described below.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Contact information — the email address you submit.
• Technical and device information — collected when you submit the signup form, including your IP address, its coarse city, region, country and timezone, plus device, browser, display, locale, hardware-capability and referring-page information.
• Subscription records — the date of signup and your current subscription status, including any subsequent unsubscribe or resubscribe.
• Optional unsubscribe feedback — the reason you choose to provide after unsubscribing, including any free-text detail you submit.

We do not collect payment information, government identifiers, precise geolocation, or any special category data.

3. Purposes of Processing

Information is processed solely to:

• deliver the email digest you requested;
• honour unsubscribe requests and maintain suppression records;
• understand, in aggregate, why people choose to stop receiving the digest;
• detect and prevent automated or abusive signups;
• understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used.

Where consent is the lawful basis for processing, it may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

4. Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes. Information is disclosed only to:

• Service providers acting as processors on our instructions — specifically Netlify, which hosts the website, Google LLC, which provides the storage and email infrastructure used to operate the Service, and Cloudflare, which processes signup requests;
• Internal operational tooling controlled by the operator, used to receive notice of new signups;
• Legal recipients, where disclosure is required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

5. Email Communications

The Service sends a confirmation message upon signup and no more than one digest per day thereafter. Days on which no qualifying items are found generate no message. Every message contains an unsubscribe link unique to your address.

6. Unsubscribing

The unsubscribe page at https://cup.pm/unsubscribe is always available as a direct way to manage an email subscription. Each email also contains a unique link that opens the same confirmation flow. A request takes effect only upon your express action, so that automated link scanners cannot unsubscribe you inadvertently. After confirmation, you may optionally tell us why you are leaving; this feedback is stored with your subscription record. Upon unsubscribing, sending ceases immediately and your address is retained in a suppression record for the sole purpose of ensuring it is not re-added. You may instead request complete deletion.

7. Local Storage

Following signup, a single timestamp value is stored in your browser's local storage so that the signup prompt is not shown again. It contains no email address or identifier, is not readable by any other website, and expires after approximately four months. The Service uses one functional cookie to remember a visitor's chosen light or dark appearance. It performs no cross-site tracking. No third-party scripts, analytics services or advertising technologies are loaded by this site.

8. Retention

Subscriber records are retained for as long as the subscription is active, and thereafter as a suppression record, unless deletion is requested. Technical information collected at signup is retained alongside that record.

9. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may object to or restrict its processing. Requests are actioned manually and without charge. We do not discriminate against any person for exercising these rights.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and it will be deleted.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and described on this page.
